Spread across a land of approximately 27 acres and bordering a lake, Chaaya Village Habarana is hidden in Sri Lanka's cultural triangle about 176 km away from the commercial capital of Colombo. Habarana is a town that is located in the historical district of Anuradhapura while it's also a central location for pilgrims and tourists who visit the cultural triangle.

Habarana village is located where A6 Dambulla-Trincomalee road meets A11 Anuradhapura-Polonnaruwa road in the district of Anuradhapura nearly on the border of adjoining district of Polonnaruwa. Habarana's central location within the cultural triangle has made it one of the preferred bases of those who visit world heritage sites of Dambulla, Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa as well as Minneriya national park & Kaudulla national park. Although used as a base for the famous tourist destinations surrounding the village, Habarana, well set with its reservoir, rich in wildlife is an attraction in its own right: it's an ornithologist's paradise and nature lover's dream.
